About Will Bassham

Will began his career in 2010 at the law firm of SettlePou in Dallas, joining the creditor’s rights and bankruptcy group before transitioning to the firm’s real estate group. Will’s practice has been centered on commercial real estate ever since.

Will represents purchasers, sellers, owners, developers, landlords, tenants, asset and property managers, institutional investors, and borrowers in connection with all types of properties, including retail, office, multi-family, medical and industrial properties, and undeveloped land. He helps individuals and businesses navigate through acquisition, financing, development, management, leasing, and sale of such properties, as well as the creation of easements and review of title matters.

A particular focus of Will’s practice has been assisting landlords and tenants in negotiating commercial leases of all kinds and sizes (retail, office, industrial, and medical office leases). No lease transaction is too large or too small, as Will’s leasing experience ranges from small office leases to retail pad site ground leases and industrial leases covering 700,000+ square foot buildings.

As part of his practice, Will negotiates term sheets, purchase and sale agreements, declarations, easement agreements, leases, license agreements, development agreements, loan documents, management and leasing agreements, and broker/commission agreements.

With his breadth of experience and aptitude for clear and concise writing, Will is well equipped to guide his clients through the complexities of commercial real estate transactions. He places great emphasis on not only finding the correct legal answer but also providing real-world practical guidance – and doing it efficiently (without ‘over-lawyering’).

When not working, Will enjoys reading in his library, camping, traveling, attending church, and spending time with his wife, son and daughter.
