Jordan then spent six years in-house as a Vice President and Senior Legal Director at Goldman Sachs & Co., where he provided legal coverage for the Realty Management division (later part of the Asset & Wealth Management division of Goldman Sachs) and advised the business team various Goldman Sachs’ business units, including principal investments by Goldman Sachs and various Goldman Sachs managed funds, involved in a broad range of real estate and entity transactions.
From the beginning, Jordan’s practice has been focused on representing clients, across the United States, engaged in residential and commercial real estate transactions, including acquisition, financing, development, asset and investment management, leasing, and disposition of industrial, office, retail, multi-family, single family rental, student housing, hospitality, healthcare, life science, self-storage, and mixed-use projects. His list of clients includes landlords, tenants, lenders, borrowers, developers, institutional investors, family offices, and individuals.
During his career, Jordan has negotiated and drafted term sheets, purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, financing documentation, debt restructures, deed-in-lieu tenders, development agreements, construction documents, leases, broker agreements, and property management agreements. He has worked on transactions with values of a few thousand dollars to multi-billion dollars, involving a single-family home to portfolios of more than 9,000 properties.
He also has extensive project management experience, working and coordinating with teams of attorneys from various practice backgrounds and across various law firms, to assist his clients on complex real estate and corporate transactions, and has advised on transaction and organizational structures (including REITs and 1031 exchanges), accommodating his clients’ needs with respect to their regulatory, tax, risk mitigation, management, and limitation of liability requirements, as well as assisted his clients in identifying legal, business, insurance and reputational risk, with a focus on providing solution-oriented strategies that see deals come together.
Jordan’s wide range of experience gives him the ability to assist his clients, not matter how big or small the need may be, with practical, solutions-oriented advice that does not require his clients to speak “legalese.”
When Jordan’s not working, you might find him on a soccer field, running on the Katy Trail, or out at a concert, but more than likely he’s swimming, playing, or enjoying a park with his wife and three kids.
